Photo Suisse

The CERN Photo Club is a member of PHOTOSUISSE, the umbrella organisation of photo clubs for Switzerland. PHOTOSUISSE has currently 38 clubs attached and about 130 individual members. PHOTOSUISSE organises yearly competitions, workshops and other activities.

What the CPC offers to participants :

  • Submission expenses are taken in charge by the club up to an amount of 50 CHF (General Assembly Decision 2020)
     
  • Organisation done by the club. Responsible Contact Person : Andrea Musso, with ‘artistic’ and technical support of all committee members.
     
  • Possibility to shows the photos to the club members for review and receive feedback.

  • For all members of Photosuisse: the Photosuisse book, with all the selected photo’s from the competition. See some examples from previous years here.

Your Commitment :

  • To submit your choice of photos in due time
     
  • To prepare your photos on files and eventually printed (see contest rules).
     
  • To pay the annual membership for Photosuisse of 70CHF
     
  • To announce in due time if you wish to resign: the subscription is automatically renewed every year!

How to participate ?

Black and white contest

  • Maximum 4 printed images
  • Maximum 4 digital images
  • Maximum 2 portfolios of 5-6 images each (only printed)

Color contest

  • Maximum 4 printed images
  • Maximum 4 digital images
  • Maximum 2 portfolios of 5-6 images each (only printed)

Note that you shall not choose a category as this is done by the judges. They will choose within the mentioned subjects.

How to submit your work ?

Printed images

  • If confirmed from last year: photographic paper minimum 250 g/m2 – maximum 3mm thickness
  • Minimum dimensions 30x40cm – Maximum 40x50cm (A3+ is the best option)
  • Title written on the back of the image – no other writings accepted
  • All printed images should be accompanied with a digital file in TIFF format – Longest side 3500px    

Digital images

  • All files shall be in TIFF format – Longest side 3500px
