Beginners level 2026

Learn photography in English/French and become a member of the CERN Photography Club – one of Switzerland’s foremost photography clubs for one year, all for only 100 CHF.  

The course is for those who are new to photography and aim to learn the technical basics. The sessions will however be open to all members of the Club, and without registration. Each session will mix theory and practice. The slides and the basic language will be in English. However all terms will be translated in French, and all participants can choose to express themselves in French or English.

• Basic principle of photo taking: “shutter time-aperture-sensitivity” triangle 

• Types of cameras and lenses 

• Camera settings 

• Composition

• Studio

• Sensors
